Collecting water samples in Chamela bay

The Sierra A Mar team was able to assist in an important activity, collecting samples and data on physical and chemical parameters with IMIPAS Manzanillo staff at the proposed site for the fishing refuge. Samples were taken to estimate nutrients in the water, such as chlorophyll; temperature, dissolved oxygen, salinity, pH, and transparency were measured; a device was launched to measure current speed/direction, and trawls were conducted for phytoplankton and zooplankton.
